I am glad you are here. I am Shiloh Sophia, an artist, author, teacher, and intuitive guide. I have been on my Sacred Path for 30 years and have been guiding transformational experiences for tens of thousands of women for over 15 years. I just turned 55 and I am here with joy, power and pleasure to invite you to Exotic Creatures.

The idea of Exotic Creatures is an invitation to an activation that honors all of you, as you are. The raw, the wild, the wounded, the wonderful, the hidden, the unlovable, and brings it all into process, that which we call Intentional Creativity®. Together we will paint, write, process, tell stories, and engage in a neo-shamanic virtual journey.

Exotic is strikingly unusual, strange, or unfamiliar. It comes from the Greek word "ekotikos," meaning foreign or outside. The process I will guide you through will be unusual. Outside of the way you have been taught and have thought all your life. We are going to step outside the normative and into the imaginal.

Will you dare to enter the journey

You will meet imaginal, plant, and animal allies from the inner realms and give them voice with the pen and brush. Through this journey, something uncommon and true will be revealed.

You, without apology or need to be loved more or a need for approval.

Just you as you. Standing in your feminine power and prowess. That archetypal energy will reveal your Sacred Path to you and give you the next steps. No more waiting. No more wishing.

You will need to be brave.

I am asking you to be unreasonable about claiming space, time, and place for yourself. I would like you to examine your patterns related to your sensuality, including your eating habits, sleep patterns, and creative pursuits. We are going to dare you to be unreasonable about your time, for you. Change requires sacred work. Are you up for it?

Devotion to yourself and your body each day is a journey. It's time for you to reveal your Sacred Path and create a plan to live it out.

What can you move out of the way to be unreasonable about making a BIG CHANGE in how you relate to yourself and your life?

You will write a new Sacred Path Plan.
You will paint an image of archetypal energies that include exotic creatures, flowers, plants, medicines, symbols, nectars, and animals and insects that will speak to you and through you.
You will access a new story.

OUR APPROACH

Exotic Creatures is an introductory and life-changing course that is rooted in myth-making, image-making, and curated consciousness, all applied through the framework of Medicine Painting. Medicine Painting is a part of the Intentional Creativity® toolkit designed to awaken the healing powers of each one of us.

This course is designed for women, by women. Even if you are an absolute beginner, we guarantee that you will experience an adventure that will forever change how you see yourself, your body, your story, your archetype, and your potential.

Although designed for beginners, anyone with any level of painting experience will greatly benefit from the transformation these teachings and this process provide.

So often our past keeps us from living the life we want to live in the present.

We are held back by trauma and pain, distracted by the choices we made, and navigating the heartbreak we feel. Sometimes the heartbreak is old and sometimes it is new - but if it is not dealt with, it WILL influence the future and our choices.

We have tried so many things, and all too often, it all just kind of occurs like maintenance, never really arriving at a fresh place. To find the freshness on our path, we need to visit the timeline of our life experience.

We will not be 'digging' up the past. Our approach is very, very different than that. We like to call it, "following the arising". BUT we will be doing ritual to release.

Following the arising means that as we create, we notice what is coming up and follow that like breadcrumbs in the forest.

Medicine Painting is creating with an intent to heal. Layer by layer by layer the journey unfolds before our eyes.

What's also cool is that we get surprised about what comes up because we set an intention to heal, but we are not dominating what happens.

During this experience, you will create a painting, access a fresh storyling and create a plan of action for your Sacred Path to be realized. Through intuition and a guided process that will knock your leopard socks off!!

This course is designed to accommodate your schedule. You will have access to live and recorded video. We have a private classroom where you can share your process and ask for guidance or support. Attending live is best.

The material is yours to keep so that you can repeat the process as often as you like. This work is an invitation to change how you show up for what matters to you. About our approach to Medicine Painting

being neo-shamanic:

The Shamans from most of the traditions invite us to bring back “something” from the inner journey of the imaginal world (energy) into the natural world of our lives (matter).

In painting, we also bring the synchronicities and stories of the natural world into the works of art we create. Then back into our lives, mirroring internal and external experience - seeking harmony.

Reciprocity between energy and matter at the speed of light, the inner world/outer world, inner self /outer self begins to Flow into Form. Then Form returns to flow as we create.

When working with Medicine Painting the Artist is in a journey into their Imaginal World: the energy of thoughts, inter-consciousness and the domain of the Inner Self.

The Artist brings what they experience in the painting process, aka at the Portal (canvas, journal etc), back into the Natural World, creating influence, mirroring the Imaginal World.

The Natural World is the lived physical Life of the Actualized Self and all Relationships with human and all life forms.

All FORMS are life living itself in matter and in energy. Everything physical has energy which is part of how we can understand the inherent aliveness of all things, and all things in relationship to one another are inter-connected.

YOUR Life begins to happen within the context of the Journey experience, which is a chosen ceremony of heart, space, time and place aka Your Studio.

The places you paint are manifested locations within the Natural World designed as a time, place, space for your Imaginal World to experience self-expression and become realized. Intentional Creativity is used by the Artist to consciously negotiate mirroring.

Your Inner Self sends signals and symbols to your “outer” Actualized Self. Your Actualized Self translates these into the creation of Your Art and Your Life which forms your Body of Work.

Your capacity to HEAR your INNER VOICE and the nuanced messages from the Inner to the Acualized, gets developed through the Path of Practice in Intentional Creativity we call Medicine Painting. JULIE STEELMAN

Some know Julie Steelman as an award-winning wildlife photographer, but in her world she believes the camera is a lens to the mystical.

When her husband died too soon, Julie found herself sharing her grief in a volcanic mountain range in east-central Africa with mountain gorillas. In a strange encounter steeped in grief, she had an intimate experience of connection, of being an integral part of the universe, of eternity, light, and love.

Julie calls this as a state of Wild Essence. She believes inherent within us all is The Missing Link…the blueprint nature is revealing to us of how we are meant to be in this world. Through the Grizzly Bears in Alaska, False Killer whales in Hawaii, Cheetahs of The Greater Karoo and Rhino in South Africa, she has learned that this energy is our essential nature.

It is Julie’s lived experience that within our Wild Essence we find ourselves, our high creativity and the coding of how to live as nature intended…in balance and harmony.

Julie’s work has been featured in many books, scientific studies, on Discovery Channel and now in her own photography book, Wild, Sacred Beauty. She is now focused on using her images to inspire a collective of women to become generative stewards of Mother Earth and co-create a thriving planet together.
